The Mystery of Himeji Castle

Himeji Castle is located near the provincial Kobe, Japan. The main tower of the castle was built in the 17th century, when the Shogun (Japanese warrior family) began to reign. At the foot of the tower is referred to as the donjon, there is a gate called Harakiri Maru, which means gate of suicide. It is named so because the gate is a place where the knight who failed to carry out their duties do Harakiri (suicide), either willingly or forced.
